Introducing a smart and easy way for you to take care of your education financing. It’s called the STUDENTCHOICE™ package, and it combines all your student banking needs.

What’s The Deal?

SIMPLE. Come and see us for a STUDENTCHOICE™ package, which includes all your loan and banking needs. If you choose a loan, then you just make fund transfers from your loan to your account as you need it. All you have to do until you complete your education or cease full-time enrollment is make the monthly interest payment.

Who Can Qualify?

The STUDENTCHOICE™ package is available to anyone under 26 years of age (at time of application) enrolling in a recognized college, university or technical school, and is taking a minimum 60% full-time course load.

What’s Included?

EVERYTHING. You can select any or all of the products that suit you best, like an interest-bearing account, overdraft protection*, a MemberCard® debit card, a Credit Union Student MasterCard® credit card, and your loan.

An account including financial services for a monthly fee.
Use of any Acculink® or Interac® ATM machines in Canada or Cirrus® machines around the world.
Use of Interac® Direct Payment with your MemberCard® debit card.
Telephone banking to pay bills, make inquiries, transfer funds.
Internet home banking.

How Much Can I Borrow ?

The STUDENTCHOICE™ package has a maximum loan amount of $10,000/year to a maximum of $40,000.00*. (An additional $60,000* would be available to students enrolled in professional programs, such as law, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and optometry). We’ll work with you to determine just how much you need to get you through school. Then we’ll help you design a plan that will ensure that your money will last you the entire school year. That means you’ll eat just as well during the last month of school as you will in the first.

What Are The Repayment Terms?

Once you complete your education or cease full-time enrollment, you have a minimum 6 month grace period where you still only have to pay the interest on the amount borrowed. After the grace period ends, you loan payments can be amortized over a maximum of 15 years with no pre-payment penalties.
